Gauge 1 Swiss Railcar 1:32nd scale
Here we have a rather interesting gauge 1 locomotive, built by the swiss gauge 1 firm Twermbold in the late 1980's . From what I have been able to find out there were a out 30 of these engines built in different liveries, and under 10 in this blue livery.
The body was built in house, with the boiler and the burner coming from Aster, infact it is the same as the marine engine they supplied at the time.
The valve gear etc came from the German manufacturer Beck, so you can see.the simalarities between it and the 16mm models of the era.
It has an open flame burner with a regulator on top of the boiler, and a direction control valve a bit like a mamod. From the research I did the locos were intended to be radio controlled but the equipment of the time did not lend itself to this.
This example is not perfect as it needs some detail parts re making, and a steam pipe from the regulator to the control valve.
After some work on the valve gear I have had this going on air and it runs very smoothly.
