Part-Built 1” Scale “Minnie” Traction Engine

Here we have a part built / part machined 1 inch scale “Minnie” traction engine, designed by L.C. Mason.

Currently if you wanted to buy a full set of castings from Reeves or Blackgates engineering it would be between £750 & £840.

This set of parts comes with the following.

- Full set of drawings & Construction manual book.

- Part Built Boiler, inner firebox and tubes have been soldered in as has the front tube plate.

- Part Machined cylinder (Bore and faces machined) as well as front and back covers. Also part machined regulator, valve chests and cylinder liner are there. Not forgetting the motion bracket.

- Complete smoke Box, Chimney and perch bracket.

- Complete Front Wheels & Axle

-Complete Rear wheels including fitted strakes 

- Both sets of wheels are complete and have been painted & lined:

- Horn plates and main crank have been made.

- A full set of Professionally 8 gears.

- Semi machined Fly wheel.

- Part machined Pump body & Excentric.

- Machined Brake and winding drum, as well as the Brake drum centre ratchet which appears to have been machined out of solid.

- Un machined Motion eccentrics.

- Finally a the Brake handle.

The only parts that you could buy for this would be the steering wheel and the steering worm and wheel.

This is a good start all the machining has been done to a good standard, and available for leas than the price of a set of castings. And that is not including a set of plans or the book.
